Anybody home?

Wow...I have not been here in YEARS!  Life happened and stuff got in the way.

Not sure if I will start anything up on here again but I am still sewing things and hope to get a ton of crayon rolls made for an upcoming craft fair with my sister-in-law.

With the invention of Pinterest I have a bunch of things I want to make but not sure if I will have the time.  So it may not be a hoppin' place.

Anybody still around here reading these silly blogs I post??

Upcoming Hiatus

We are in the process of packing up most of the house for our move back across the Pacific and to the Mainland!!! This week I have been boxing up my crafting area. So I won't be able to post anything that I have been working on. Then once I get moved and my craft area set back up I will be delving back into my scrapbooks. I'm SO behind. Seriously.

I have two children. Christian is 26 months and I just finished my pregnancy with him and have to move onto his first year milestones. Sarah Bear is 7 months and doesn't even have a scrapbook yet...as in I need to go to the store and buy one. I'll post pictures of the pages if you would like, though!

So this is my warning to you all that I will not be posting much of anything for the next 4 months or so. :( I will have to figure out how to do some craftiness in other ways....

Ta-ta for now!

Things are slow but I'm getting a few things done.

Here are just a few of the things I have been working on. I have been attempting a few different tshirt dresses for Sarah. One is from an actual men's buttoned shirt and the other is a girls shirt with the bottom cut off and a sewn skirt added. So far I'm liking the men's shirt dress better. It just seems more tailored.

This is the back of the dress. All the buttons ARE there I just didn't put them all through the holes when I put it on the hanger. I still have to hem the bottom. I'm thinking I might put some ruffles on it just like the top has.

This is the girls shirt with the bottom cut off. I have to sew the two halves together but this is the general idea. I'm going to add some pink flower/detail of some sort at the top of the skirt.

My first attempt at a pleated hem. I probably should have ironed it.... haha!

I have another men's buttoned shirt to work on for another dress. They will fit Sarah next summer! :)

Finally finished the backpack!

Took me a LONG time but I got it done. I just stalled on it for quite a while and figured I better get it finished today...or not at all!

The only thing I have left to do is find some silver D-rings and not gold like what I currently have. Gold will match some other fabric I have better and I would like to have silver for this back.

There is just one thing I would change with this and that is making the next one a bit sturdier. I had to make due with the fabric that I DID find so I know how to make the next bag better structured. :) Hope you like it!

I also got another blanket done for somebody. This is with the new fleece that I finally got in the mail. I have to get pictures of all the new stuff and add it to the inventory link.

Pics of some progress!

I'm making some stuffed letters for Sarah's wall. It's been fun and they are turning out pretty cute! This is the 'S' and I have a 'B' started. When all is said and done, it will say 'Sarah Bear'. :)

I'm also making progress, although SLOW, on the toddler backpack. It's just taking me lots of time because it's the first attempt. I know the next one will go way faster since I won't need directions to do it. But it's super cute and I hope it holds up well with the rough and tumble Christian!

I still have the back, straps, and the handles left. Hooray for it turning out cute!

Toddler Backpack

I can't wait to start this new project!!!! :) It's going to be the most difficult one by far. I bought a pattern from happygiraffe and she sent the PDF file with all the instructions! It's going to be so fun. Christian needs something to put all his toys in when we go places. My purse just isn't big enough for all these baby things anymore. Plus, this will be a PERFECT travel bag for him when we PCS later this year.

I really hope this goes well! Anyways, here is what the finished product looks like. Photo is courtesy of happygiraffe.
